It certainly feels like spring has sprung this week and we’re absolutely in love with this super pretty season right now. New leaves, baby buds and beautiful blossom – we can’t wait to get out and about this week.

In the meantime, and as a seasonal treat to see you through the week, we’re featuring some of our favourite springtime wedding ideas right here and they’re more than a little bit fabulous. As a spring wedding theme, we adore blossom. Cherry, apple, almond, it’s all delightful and it all looks wonderful. So, let us lead you through the orchard and bring on the delicate pinks and charming details…

As this theme is so incredibly natural, your bridal look needs to echo this. Think loose hair-styles, flower crowns, cap veils and gowns that are embellished with botanical details, maybe including tulle layers or flowing skirts. There’s no need for rigid structure in this ethereal theme.

You can add a pop of colour to this look with your bridesmaids – choose complimentary coloured gowns and a shorter length as a nod to the longer, warmer days. We love this gown, as the applique additions couldn’t be more on theme! Again, the fabrics add lightness and movement and this is just ideal.

Pretty cakes are also an essential for this theme and why not flavour them accordingly too? Subtle colours and exquisite decorative touches work their magic here and it would be great to serve these sweet treats on patterned plates for added luxury. If you’re not keen on cake or if you love the thought of an afternoon tea at your wedding, then why not consider these delicious petits fours and gorgeous macarons? Both are perfectly indulgent bitesize delights so will work really well as sweet canapés.

Whilst we’re on the topic of food, let’s also consider drinks and these are two great options – you could serve either beautifully coloured cocktails whilst a light tea, complete with blossom, is a luxurious version of the nation’s favourite drink. We love upscaling the everyday for weddings!

To continue your spring theme, don’t forget to consider your stationery. You could opt for an invitation suite printed with blossom motifs or you could use a kraft paper, with an earthy appeal, and style it with fresh blossoms. The black-on-kraft option would be great if you’d like to DIY your stationery, as it’s easy to print at home.

Obviously armfuls of blossom are a decorative essential for this theme and the branches themselves work brilliantly on tables, adding height and colour in equal measure. We love them on white tables where their beauty can really stand out but consider adding touches of colour on the tabletop itself to keep everything look pretty. Hanging vases full of petals are also superb and would allow you to bring the blossom to any area of your wedding.

Blossom is doesn’t last long and this is part of its charm. However, you can cheat nature a little as it’s incredibly easy to make your own blossom details with tissue paper. Add them to plain branches to add instant wow factor or use them to style backdrops and more. Coloured pinwheels are another option – bringing big tones to larger areas if you’d like something a little bolder.

We hope you agree this wedding theme is blooming lovely and we’d love to hear why spring is special to you. Why not get in touch with us on Twitter or Facebook?
