A relatively new star on the jewellery scene, Alexandrite was discovered in the 19th. century and named after the Czar of Russia. This fascinating gemstone’s colour changes depending on the light source: green by daylight and red by indoor light.

Often cited as a birthstone for June, Alexandrite is also used to celebrate 45th. and 55th. anniversaries. In keeping with its modern pedigree, Alexandrite is often employed in lasers, usually for hair removal on those with fair skin. In addition to scientists, this stone is beloved by connoisseurs, not only for its rarity but also for its seemingly magical colour change.
